Local Internet Marketing is an important strategy for small businesses.

For example, Kelowna is a small town with a catchment area of nearly 200,000 people in south central British Columbia, Canada.

Because of the demographics of the population and a large influx of visitors during the summer months, and skiers in winter, Kelowna is well served the community with great amenities, great detail, including a surprising number of internet marketing and web design companies.

Using internet marketing to target a local market of this size or even larger, is judicious use of resources for most companies. And, because of competition largely reduced compared to a national or international campaign internet marketing, internet marketing is local be a much less costly and more effective.

The first step for any company wishing to market locally on the Internet is to ensure they have a targeted landing page for the local market. Ideally, the URL of the website includes the keywords. Broadly Generally, this means identifying the best keywords before SEO and PPC efforts, and adding a local name as the name of the community, the region name or the name of the business district is located in. Very simply, you add a modifier to the geographic keywords that you should otherwise use in your pay per click optimization or search engine.

For example, if I were a car dealer in Kelowna and my best keywords are "cars" or "new pickups" I just want to add my position for those keywords and have new keywords in the new pages optimized for "Kelowna new cars" or "cars Kelowna.

Another very effective technique for marketing Local Internet is to make short videos, ideally less than four minutes, with the current title of your keywords with the base location. This video can be as simple as a screenshot of your local optimized web page with a voiceover describing the goods or services. Upload Video YouTube and other sites to share video using the appropriate keywords in the description in this case "Kelowna new cars."

Very often, in the local market, the video displayed on the first page of Google results. Therefore, you not only have a presence video on the first page of Google, you're actually in many cases bumping a competitor off the front page. If your Web page Local comes with the video on the first page to the search for even a common practice in internet marketing locally, you can easily take two or more 10 locations on the first page of search results.

Finally, adding a PPC or pay per click search advertising campaign can be very effective local marketing. Simply run an AdWords campaign using these keywords modified locally for this page locally optimized landing. Your level of quality is very high and your costs low, and you will certainly be on the first page for a few cents per click. It is common to have two or more of the ten organic results as well as one of the best results on the First PPC using this method!

More market, and competitive business climate in a given time slot, the harder it is to achieve these results. Yet even local markets are much larger than Kelowna, it is still very, very easy compared to targeting a keyword top in a national or international campaign without affecting local.

Wherever your business is located, if possible, there are customers for its products or services in the field, it makes sense to do a local search campaign to buy some cheap local traffic. Just build a landing page, to optimize for keywords modified locally, and to generate local search results with PPC, SEO, video uploads, and Google business listings.
